Greg Olsen was asked about the inspiration behind this painting:
"What''s this on your hand?" Such an innocent and concerned inquiry from a little child surely would bring forth a tender answer from the Savior. He might reply, "That''s a reminder of just how much I love you."
I hope I never forget how much He loves me, and I hope I can live my life, everyday, showing how much I love Him.
I remember reading something as a mission - I think from "Jesus the Christ" by James E. Talmage - that said that the reason Jesus still has the wounds on his hands and his feet and his side is because he chose to keep them to remind us and testify to us that He died for us. I always think of that when I think of his wounds. Not only did he die for us, but he continues to show his love by teaching us of His divine roll in God's beautiful plan. Truly, "Greater love hath no man..."
